Every year, EVIT students with perfect attendance get the chance to win a car, courtesy of Chandler’s Thorobred Chevrolet. This annual giveaway helps encourage students to make attendance part of their work ethic.
This year’s car is a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier. At the end of the school year, students with perfect attendance at EVIT’s Dr. A. Keith Crandell (Main) Campus and East Campus will draw for a chance to participate in the giveaway, where six students will each select a key. The student with the key that turns on the car, wins the car.
Superintendent Dr. Sally Downey said that good attendance is stressed at EVIT because that’s what employers expect.
“We treat our students like adults because we are training them to go directly from EVIT into the workforce,” Downey said. “We expect them to behave like adults, to come to school every day and be professional – and they rise to that expectation.”
Thank you, Thorobred Chevrolet and service director Steve Marley, for this generous incentive!
